Rebecca Neuwirth
New York, NY

Rebecca Neuwirth joined JDC as Director of the Ambassadors program in April 2012. Previously, she served on the senior staff of AJC (American Jewish Committee), where she founded and directed ACCESS: AJC’s new generation program, now active in 12 cities in the United States and Israel.

Since 2001, Ms. Neuwirth also served as Executive Director of Thanks To Scandinavia, a foundation started by Danish entertainer Victor Borge and New York attorney Richard Netter in 1963 to give scholarships in lasting gratitude for the rescue of Jews during World War II. Thanks To Scandinavia became a semi-independent institute of AJC at that time.

Ms. Neuwirth grew up in New York and graduated from Stuyvesant High School. She has a BA magna cum laude from Yale University and an MA from the Free University in Berlin. While in Germany, she translated a book on educational history by the father of modern systems theory, Niklas Luhmann. She is married and has three children.
